The new construction project Mi Oso in Amsterdam Southeast has won the Amsterdam New Construction Award 2021, the public prize for new construction in the city.
The project received more than twenty percent of the over 5,000 votes. The project consists of 42 owner-occupied homes and 84 social rental homes. On Saturday, June 26 (2021), alderman Laurens Ivens (Construction and Housing) and Dick Verhoeven of Bouwend Nederland presented the award to the residents, Era Contour, Geurst & Schulze architects, and Eigen Haard.
Like nine other projects, Mi Oso was nominated for the final by a public jury. City channel AT5 made video impressions of the ten finalist projects. You can watch those below. All 53 projects that participated were delivered in Amsterdam between August 2019 and August 2020.
The Amsterdam Nieuwbouwprijs is organized each year by AT5, the municipality of Amsterdam, Bouwend Nederland and Amsterdam Woont. The election took place for the fifteenth time.
