Project description
The project "De Dichters – Komrij, Slauerhoff" is a continuation of the renewal of the Kolenkitbuurt. The project by housing corporation Eigen Haard consists of two rugged brick residential blocks. The Komrij building comprises 50 owner-occupied homes, and Slauerhoff comprises 56 social rental homes.
When buying homes, tenants of a social housing unit from Eigen Haard or from one of the other housing corporations in Amsterdam were given priority. This creates flow in the housing market. After all, buyers leave social housing units behind, so they can be offered to other people. Homes that were not sold to people moving up the housing ladder after six months were put on the open market.
The living program around the courtyards with parking and elevated 'gardens' of the ground-floor family homes on the streets, up to apartments and studios on the corners, is optimally positioned to live comfortably in the city yet sheltered in this neighborhood. The 38 owner-occupied apartments in the Komrij building have living areas ranging from 45 to 80 square meters. The family homes are over 110 square meters. The construction of De Dichters is the continuation of the renewal of the Kolenkitbuurt.
Existing trees and greenery in the form of brick flower boxes in the residential streets and hedges on the outside of the blocks provide privacy and a place to sit, stand to talk with your neighbors, or watch your child.
