Het Schip, a large renovation project in the Spaarndammerbuurt neighborhood of Amsterdam, has won the Amsterdam New Construction Award 2019. The project, which includes 81 social housing units, has been completely renovated both inside and out. The homes have been updated for modern comfort and are ready to be heated without gas in the future. Alderman Laurens Ivens (Building and Housing) and chairman of Bouwend Nederland Maxime Verhagen presented the award to residents and stakeholders on Construction Day, Saturday, June 15.
