In terms of population, West is the second-largest district of Amsterdam. In square kilometers, West is the second-smallest district. That combination, and the many amenities, therefore create an urban atmosphere. You can shop to your heart's content in West and there are plenty of cafes and restaurants to relax. Besides the Westergasterrein, De Hallen is a well-known attraction, with shops, markets, restaurants, movie theaters, a reading cafe, and a gallery with art rental.
