Wooden facades, pitched roofs, lots of brown and grey tones and water all around. New construction project Libau Eiland in the Houthaven Amsterdam breathes the atmosphere of the past. In the final phase, Stadszijde phase 2, a few homes are still available. These include two studios of around four hundred thousand and a spacious boathouse of over 1 million. The prices are free on name and based on an annual ground rent. Registration is handled via the project siteGood to know: completion is in March!!
Libau Eiland is a project by BPD in the Houthaven, one of Amsterdam's most desirable residential areas. This 'pier' features a total of 116 homes. The aesthetic is robust and 'warehouse-like', fitting the history of the area. Once, bargemen moored their timber barges along the quay here. The design of the buildings harks back to that era. Old timber warehouses and barns served as a major source of inspiration for the architects. The past is reflected not only in the shapes of the buildings, but also in the use of materials and colors; plenty of wood, plenty of grey, plenty of brown. However harbor-like Libau Eiland will become, the human scale prevails in this neighborhood. Intimate outdoor spaces and beautiful sightlines over the water ensure this.
The remaining available housing supply in this final phase of Libau Eiland thus consists of two studios and a spacious boathouse. These homes are alternately under option. Do not let that stop you. If you are interested, you can simply register. As soon as an option lapses, you may still be eligible for it. A brief overview of the most important features:
The two studios are compact yet complete at approximately 37 square meters. You have a living room with an open kitchen and plenty of space for a sofa and a bed. Furthermore, you have a bathroom with a shower and washbasin, and a separate toilet. The prices: 397,877 or 407,913 euros (free on board), based on annual ground rent.
This fantastic boathouse is a dream for anyone who owns a boat, because thanks to your own private dock, you have your boat right at your doorstep! This home has a living area of approximately 129 square meters. You have a spacious living room with an open kitchen and two bedrooms. The purchase price is 1,041,010 euros (free of tax/transfer costs, leasehold), based on an annual ground rent. Very convenient if you have a car: a parking space in the garage is included in the price.
The Houthaven in Amsterdam West is undergoing a metamorphosis. At the location where cargo ships from all over Europe used to unload their timber cargoes, a vibrant waterfront neighborhood is now rising. A characteristic feature of the Houthaven is that most of the buildings are constructed on (penin)sulas or piers, resulting in an exceptionally large number of waterfront homes. Directly behind the Houthaven lies the lively Spaarndammerbuurt, with shops and cozy restaurants and cafes. Moreover, living in the Houthaven puts you just a ten-minute bike ride away from the vibrant center of Amsterdam.

You can upload that check (a document) during the registration procedure. You can request such a check for free from your bank, including Rabobank (via this page).
