What do you think of when it comes to traditional Marker architecture? Black or green façades, red roof tiles, white window frames and beautiful eaves decorations. And … detached or semi-detached houses. Not apartments. The more beautiful thing is that the new development project ‘t Eilandhart on Marken Also offers apartments. Same style, but all on the same floor. Of the eleven apartments that recently went on sale, there are still a few available. Prices: starting at 310,000 euros (incl. VAT).
The apartment building in question rises on the edge of the Zinkerwerf sub-plan. This location offers stunning views. Depending on your location, you can see the iconic lighthouse of Marken (‘Het Paard van Marken’), the waters of Lake Markermeer or the Gouwzee, or the charming and car-free residential neighborhood itself from your apartment. Some of the apartments have already been sold, while others are subject to option. There are also apartments still available, including Zinkerwerf 79 and Zinkerwerf 75:
Apartment Zinkerwerf 79 is a compact penthouse of approximately 40 square meters with one bedroom. It is located on the second floor of the building and overlooks the shipyard (the residential neighborhood). The apartment is accessible by elevator. The outdoor area of this apartment is located on the ground floor. The purchase price: 310,000 euros (incl. VAT).
Apartment Zinkerwerf 75 is a three-room apartment of approximately 60 square meters on the top floor. From this apartment you have a view of the lighthouse Het Paard van Marken. The apartment is accessible by elevator. You have a balcony that can be accessed through double doors. On the ground floor you have a storage room in the building. The purchase price: 435,000 euros (incl. VAT).
All apartments are delivered with a complete bathroom. You can park your bikes in the individual storage room or in the garage on the ground floor. For the car, there are parking spaces just outside the neighborhood. So you don’t have to park on the street; the neighborhood is car-free after all. There are only a few homes with a parking space next to the house.
The apartments are very energy-efficient (currently energy label A++). This, in turn, contributes to the high living comfort. Moreover, you can borrow more money to purchase the apartment.
Like all the homes of ’t Eilandhart, the apartment building is also located on a so-called werf, in this case the Zinkerwerf. Werfs are elevations (terpen) in the landscape that are characteristic of Marken. When Marken was still an island, it was regularly plagued by flooding. A werf offered protection against that. ’t Eilandhart continues that building tradition.
Although Marken has been connected to the mainland since 1957, the island feeling has never disappeared. You have fantastic views over the water and meadows, and the living environment is picturesque. Furthermore, there is no shortage of amenities. In the charming old center of the former fishing village you can find shops for daily groceries and enjoy a nice meal. And when the weather is nice, you can take a seat on a terrace with a view of the marina. Furthermore, Marken (among other things) has a primary school and a doctor. And if you enjoy water sports? Then you’ll be in for a treat here. Marken is surrounded by water and you can dock in the marina. It’s also an ideal place to train for triathlons: you can swim, cycle, and run there to your heart’s content.
On Marken, you live and breathe outside, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Do you still need the urban hustle and bustle? Amsterdam is just a half-hour drive away. If you take the bike, you’re less than an hour away. But then you’ll be cycling through a stunning wetland area full of water and birds.
