Endless vistas over the water, an atmospheric harbor, vast polders, and picturesque houses. That is what you see around you every day when you are at Marken lives, a half-hour drive from Amsterdam. At this unique location, the new construction project 't Eilandhart is rising on two dwelling mounds ("werven"), featuring magnificent new homes in the traditional Marken style. The project forms a new chapter in the history of Marken. On Sunday, March 1, buyers, interested parties, and residents of Marken were able to visit the mounds, meet each other, and enjoy the view. They also received information about the still available accommodation offer.
The homes still available in the new-build project ’t Eilandhart are therefore located in two areas: Osselandwerf and Zinkerwerf. These include homes built in blocks of three or four attached properties, as well as semi-detached and detached houses. Whichever home type you choose, you will always have your living room and kitchen on the ground floor. On the first floor, there are two or three bedrooms and the bathroom. There is also a storage attic. Furthermore, every house has a private terrace. Living areas range from approximately 100 to 191 square meters. Prices vary from 449,000 to 965,000 euros (free on board / buyer's costs inclusive). There is also a two-room apartment of approximately 40 square meters for sale. This home costs 310,000 euros (free on board / buyer's costs inclusive).
Thanks to a ground source heat pump, excellent insulation, HR++ glass, heat recovery, and underfloor heating, living in ’t Eilandhart is very energy-efficient and comfortable. Good to know: the facade cladding is low-maintenance and the delivery includes a luxury and complete bathroom (and toilet) by Villeroy & Boch.
During the open house on Sunday, March 1, the newly constructed mounds ('terpen') were opened to the public. Buyers, interested parties, and residents of Marken ("Markers") feasted their eyes and got to know one another. About 100,000 cubic meters of sand was used to construct the mounds. Using an innovative technique, water is controlledly pumped out of the subsoil, causing the ground to settle faster and become more stable. The drainage has also been installed in the meantime. Construction has not started yet, but that is about to change soon. The first construction activities will take place on the Zinkerwerf.
For centuries, Marken was an island in the Zuiderzee (now the IJsselmeer and Markermeer), which was regularly battered by floods. The people of Marken therefore built their houses on mounds, also known as 'werven'. Close together, with only narrow streets, alleys, and small squares in between. That intimate atmosphere is brought back in ’t Eilandhart. The architecture is also entirely typical of the island. You will see black and green cladding, long roofs with (mostly) red tiles, small dormer windows, white window frames, windows with muntin bars, and wooden ridge decorations. And the private terraces are designed in such a way that they form a single entity with the public space.
Marken offers you a picturesque residential environment with fantastic views over water and meadows. There is no shortage of amenities. In the charming old center of the former fishing village, you will find shops for your daily groceries and places to enjoy a nice meal out. And when the weather is nice, you can grab a table on a terrace overlooking the harbor, or head to the small beach on the Gouwzee. Furthermore, Marken has a football club, a tennis club, and a gym (located in the community center). There is also a general practitioner. Children can attend the primary school on the island. When they are a bit older, they can take the bus to one of the secondary schools in Monnickendam, Volendam, or Amsterdam Noord. Do you love water sports? Then this is the place for your heart's content. Marken is surrounded by water, and you can moor your boat in the marina.
Are you looking for a house with a unique character in a picturesque location? Then 't Eilandhart in Marken is for you. Want to know more? Then check out the accommodation offer on the project website and register for the home of your choice. The sales team will then contact you.
