The Van der Pekbuurt, a renovation project in Amsterdam Noord, has won the Amsterdam New Construction Award 2018. A part of this garden village has been extensively renovated. This concerns more than 300 social housing units. The project received 21.9 percent of the votes. The Amsterdam New Construction Award is the public award for new construction in Amsterdam. Ninety-four projects completed between August 2016 and August 2017 participated. A public jury selected the ten most appealing projects from these. Subsequently, everyone could cast their vote via this site. Over 4,000 people did so.
