Southeast: major renovation
The district has undergone major renewal since the 1990s. Flats were renovated or made way for single-family homes, making Southeast increasingly attractive. The district is now also being worked on, in part by transforming areas with mainly offices into residential neighborhoods, with considerable new construction. Much of that new construction is taking place at several larger new construction sites, such as Hondsrugpark, part of the even larger urban development Amstel III. Another well-known new construction location in Southeast is E-neighborhood East.
