New construction in Sluisbuurt, Amsterdam

Sluisbuurt will be a sustainable, green neighborhood on the IJ River, not far from the center of Amsterdam. The new neighborhood will rise next to the Piet Hein tunnel, on the western tip of Zeeburgereiland in Amsterdam East. That is directly opposite the Orange Locks. Now and in the coming years, many new buildings are taking place in Sluisbuurt.

Lock neighborhood: new construction in residential towers up to 125 meters

In Sluisbuurt, Amsterdam is really going up in height, with several residential towers of up to 125 meters. Yet you don't notice any of this on the street. Nowhere will the towers stand directly on the street, but always a few meters to the rear. Nowhere on the street will the buildings be higher than twenty meters, which is usual in Amsterdam. Besides housing and (of course) facilities, there will be room for a (dike) park, a square, playgrounds and parks. There will also be a water basin, on the one hand necessary for water management, on the other intended for water recreation.
