Rolreder housing is rising on Rolrederstraat, Weiver, and Zuidervaartdijk in Krommenie. This is a place with a rich history. The rolreders used to work here. These were entrepreneurs who made sailcloth that was renowned and used worldwide. That attention to quality is reflected in the architecture of the homes. You'll see (among other things) warm-colored bricks, facades with characteristic wooden accents, and charming roofs with a kink. Even more history: the apartment building is located on the site of the former Caro Brothers paint factory. Hence the industrial look of the building. Because the past is such a strong source of inspiration, it will soon look as if the neighborhood has always been there.
Rolreder consists of 30 homes: 12 terraced and corner houses, 6 semi-detached houses, and 12 two- and three-bedroom apartments. A brief overview of the accommodation offer and the indicative prices:

The 12 terraced and corner houses have living areas ranging from approximately 80 to 106 square meters. On the ground floor, you'll find the living room with an open-plan kitchen and French doors leading to the garden. The first floor accommodates three bedrooms and the bathroom. Some of these homes also feature a spacious attic. The indicative prices range from approximately €425,000 to €555,000 (including costs).
The 6 semi-detached houses offer approximately 110 to 114 square meters of living space. These homes also feature a living room with an open kitchen on the ground floor and three bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor. The second floor is spacious enough for work, hobbies, or study. Notably: in 4 of the 6 semi-detached houses, the long roofline is playfully interrupted by the brick facade. For building numbers 1 and 2, you can park your car at the house. The indicative prices range from approximately 585,000 to 635,000 euros (including costs).
The 12 apartments have living areas ranging from approximately 72 to 123 square meters. In almost all cases, these are three-room apartments. Only the largest apartment has four rooms. They all have their own balcony or a garden (on the ground floor). The target prices range from approximately 475,000 to 750,000 euros (including costs).
The energy performance of the homes in Rolreder is good. They are excellently insulated, gas-free, and equipped with an air-to-water heat pump. The terraced houses and semi-detached houses also have solar panels. All of this leads to a lower energy bill (with normal consumption) and more comfort.
Krommenie is located in the municipality of Zaanstad and has existed for about 775 years. The past is reflected in typical examples of centuries-old Zaan region wooden architecture. The Nicolaas Church is also an example of this, with its green-painted wooden tower. Krommenie offers a quiet living environment with all amenities close by. Such as shops, schools, childcare, and sports clubs. By car, you can reach the A8 motorway within minutes. And via the Krommenie-Assendelft train station (approximately a 5-minute bike ride away), you can travel quickly to Amsterdam and Zaandam. You can also take the bus, which stops around the corner.
Don't want to go to the big city, but prefer to enjoy peace and quiet and open space? You don't have to go far; on the north side of Krommenie lies the Krommeniër Woudpolder. This is an extensive fen meadow area that includes the Alkmaar lake and the Uitgeester lake.
