Almere Haven, on the Gooimeer lake, is the oldest district of Almere. It is therefore the birthplace of this modern polder city. Yet, you will also find new construction in Almere Haven. The character of Almere Haven is village-like, with spacious neighborhoods and many courtyards. Those who live here often don't want to leave. This also has to do with the harbor, a culinary hotspot with nice restaurants and cozy terraces on the water.
