VanIJburg: fine place for living with care, meeting and activities in Amsterdam IJburg

VanIJburg is located on the Cas Oorthuyskade on IJburg, in a central location between Steigereiland and Haveneiland-West in Amsterdam. The building offers more than just living: there is a cozy meeting area on the first floor, where you can meet your neighbors, family or friends. There is also a mezzanine, with areas for care and welfare services. Thanks to lots of glass, wood and communal living rooms, VanIJburg feels open and welcoming. You can relax outside in the shared garden or on the roof terrace. Most homes also have private outdoor space.

VanIJburg, Amsterdam: your own rental apartment, with care at home

The twenty medium-priced rental apartments for people who need intensive care will be on the third and fourth floors. In these apartments you live independently, with 24/7 professional care via 'Volledig Pakket Thuis' (VPT). This allows you to largely determine how you receive the care, which is provided by care organization Amstelring. These apartments require a WLZ-indication. For more information, see the frequently asked questions at www.vanijburg.nl. Good to know: VanIJburg also has partner housing, so you can continue to live together if living independently in your old home is no longer possible.

Briefly:

  • Independent living with (heavy) care at home
  • Care via Full Package Home (VPT)
  • Own control of your care
  • WLZ indication required
  • Partner homes also available

Also group living for people with dementia

Besides these twenty independent rental apartments for people with (heavy) care, VanIJburg will also have group living for people with dementia. For this target group there will be 36 studios and communal living rooms on the first and second floor. Amstelring provides nursing home care and support in a safe, secure setting, tailored to the residents. This care also requires a WLZ indication. Read more about this in the frequently asked questions on www.vanijburg.nl.

Sustainable, energy efficient and easily accessible

VanIJburg will be a sustainable and energy-efficient building, constructed largely of wood. Good insulation, solar control measures, LED lighting, heat recovery and underfloor heating will ensure lower energy consumption. The residential care building is easily accessible. From the ring road you drive to it in five minutes and streetcar line 26 stops a few minutes' walk away.

Interested? Sign up for the information session(s)

Do you need intensive care but want to live independently? Or do you know someone with dementia who is looking for a protected living environment? Then VanIJburg is for you. Find out all about this residential care building, the care on offer and the application procedure during the information sessions on Monday, September 8 (online) or Tuesday, September 9 (on location). Do register. This can be done via this form on the project site.
