Independent living with intensive home care, in a mid-priced rental apartment in Amsterdam. It is possible in the VanIJburg new-build project. VanIJburg is located on the Cas Oorthuyskade on IJburg, in a central location between Steigereiland and Haveneiland-West in AmsterdamFrom the ring road, it is a five-minute drive away. And tram line 26 stops within a few minutes' walking distance. The sustainable and energy-efficient building offers more than just assisted living: there is a cozy meeting area on the ground floor where you can meet your neighbors, family, or friends. There is also a mezzanine with spaces for care and welfare services. Thanks to plenty of glass, wood, and communal living rooms, VanIJburg feels open and welcoming. You can relax outside in the communal garden or on the roof terrace. Most homes also have their own outdoor space.
The twenty mid-priced rental apartments for people who need intensive care will be located on the third and fourth floors. You will live independently in these apartments, with 24/7 professional care via the "Full Package at Home" (VPT). This means you largely determine for yourself how you receive the care, which is provided by healthcare provider Amstelring. As mentioned, you need a Long-term Care Act (WLZ) indication to be eligible for these rental apartments. You can read more about this in the frequently asked questions at www.vanijburg.nl.
There are still a few rental apartments available in VanIJburg. One of them is so spacious that you can also live there with your partner. However, you both need to have a WLZ indication. A few other rental apartments are currently under option. Those could also become available again if candidates drop out.

Besides these twenty independent rental apartments for people with (heavy) care needs, VanIJburg will also feature other homes. Such as compact rental apartments for key workers (all already rented out). And studios and communal living rooms for people with dementia (group living). These studios will be located on the first and second floor. There is still room for new residents there.
