Good news for starters in the housing market! In the new urban neighborhood HONK in Hoofddorp are now two-bedroom apartments on sale with KoopStart. Thanks to that scheme, the newly built apartments have a price below market value. Purchase prices start at 331,500 euros (n.d.). The KoopStart apartments in HONK are approximately 53 to 61 square meters in size and have a balcony or loggia.
The KoopStart scheme applies once only to a limited number of apartments in HONK and is possible thanks to the National Fund for Affordable Housing (NFBK). Through this fund, the government wants to give first-time buyers more opportunities to buy a new home. Because the purchase prices of KoopStart homes are below market value, it is easier for you to get in. Your monthly costs are also considerably lower. If you sell the home later, you can offset the reduced purchase price against the change in value. If the value of the apartment has increased, you share the profit. You qualify for a KoopStart apartment in HONK if you are under 35 years old, are buying a home for the first time and together with your partner earn no more than twice modal (93,531 euros gross per year).
HONK is part of The New North, an area that will transform from an industrial park into a vibrant, green neighborhood in the coming years. HONK consists of four apartment buildings. The KoopStart apartments (24 in total) are located in three of these four buildings: Hong Kong, Oslo, New York and Cape Town.
