KBF Dock is rising in the Kauwgomballenkwartier in the Overamstel neighborhood, next to the lively Amstelkwartier. This area is rapidly changing from an industrial area to a mixed residential/commercial district, with a prominent place for its industrial past. Part of that past is the former Maple Leaf candy factory, also known as the "Kauwgomballenfabriek. Hence the name, of both the area and the project (KBF).
