An entire generation of Krommenieans knows this place on Noorderhoofdstraat. Here people danced, jangled, kissed, flirted and distanced themselves. Visitors forged friendships here for ever or for a while, got a courtship and even found true love. Obscure bands, famous names and ambitious folk singers performed here. A magical place.

The name lives on in the annual festival, a celebration of Krommenie and now a tradition. The site at 143 Noorderhoofdstraat will get a new function: living. Five apartments in a building that fits perfectly into the historic setting in terms of appearance. This will be a monument of the future.

The so-called notary building comprises three floors. Four apartments will be distributed on the first and second floors. On the first floor there will be a common area at the rear, the main entrance is on the side. The rest of the first floor is designated for a three-room apartment with its own entrance. Sports and games are also always nearby. Krommenie has a state-of-the-art indoor/outdoor swimming pool with sports facilities. Taking a stroll through Agathe Park, walking along Krommeniedijk, running to the countryside....
After all, because work has to be done, Krommenie is easily accessible by rail, highway and regional transport. Zaandam belongs to the same municipality, so city amenities, such as the Zaans Medical Center are also within easy reach.
