Beauty must be honored; history must be respected. From that perspective, the colorful buildings on the Rozengracht in Zaandam, at the corner with Czarinastraat, were redeveloped. Colorful, in keeping with their previous purpose as exotic eateries and exotic supermarkets. Three adjoining buildings were rearranged to give as many young couples and singles as possible the opportunity to own their own home. Their place in the city center. Close to the station, above the shops and even closer to the restaurants.

Phase 1 involved the corner building. This will retain its original appearance, with ornate balconies and French balconies. By now, this first phase has all been sold, and phase 2 is just around the corner. Soon we will start selling.

The three buildings are completely renovated and then transformed into studios and two-room apartments, with different characteristics and sizes. Behind the characteristic facades, some original and some inspired, a total of 19 different homes are created, 12 of which will have a separate bedroom. The flat roofs, hidden behind the slopes, façades and parapets are used as roof terraces for the highest floors and as outdoor spaces for all the residents together. The new facades are inspired by the renovated and photogenic Zaandam City Centre. Here, they are implemented in a slightly quirky way, with the industrial touch that the Zaanstreek is also known for.

The Rozengracht runs parallel to the Gedempte Gracht, the main shopping street in the Zaandam city center. Water flows through the latter; the Rozengracht was paved long ago. Both ‘canals’ flow into De Dam, the entertainment square. There are plenty of terraces, eateries, restaurants, clubs and bars here. Enjoy the atmosphere all year round!
On the other side of the street lies the route to the station, with plenty of food stands where you can grab a coffee-to-go on the way to the train in the morning and choose takeout on the return journey. Zaandam has traditionally been a city of diversity. You will also find delicatessens and specialties from all over the world here!

Zaandam is not only a pleasant place to live, but also a diverse workplace. As part of the Metropolregion – and with Amsterdam as its immediate neighbor – the connections to the capital, the airport, business parks, and educational institutions are optimal. The Intercity takes you to Amsterdam CS in 12 minutes. Motorists experience the same convenience, but sports enthusiasts benefit fully from Zaandam’s central location. An electric ferry takes them back and forth from the cultural stronghold of Hemkade to the Amsterdam Harbour Area.
