Diemen, living near Amsterdam
Diemen is located on the east side of Amsterdam and borders the capital on three sides. The great advantage of this proximity is that the stores, restaurants, cultural facilities, attractions and events of Amsterdam are never far away either. For example, visit Artis Zoo, the Van Gogh museum or the Leidseplein. Or to the Johan Cruijff Arena. That's about 10 minutes away, as are the major concert halls Ziggo Dome and Afas Live.

Northeast of Diemen lies the IJsselmeer with all its recreational opportunities. You can also enjoy space and nature elsewhere around Diemen. Think of the Diemerpolder, the Diemerpark, the Bijlmerweide, the Gaasperpark, the peat meadow area a little further and nature reserve Naardermeer.
