One of the attractions is still the Czar Peter House, one of the oldest wooden houses in the Netherlands, where Russian Tsar Peter the Great once stayed. There is also the Monet Atelier, where you will discover the Zaanish paintings of impressionist Claude Monet. For concerts and exhibitions you can go to the Bullekerk. And for the better movies, go to movie house De Fabriek. For those looking beyond the city, there are wonderful bicycle tours through the surrounding area. Past historic mills and factory buildings, for example, but also through beautiful nature. And of course there is the Zaanse Schans, that unique concentration of historic wooden buildings, industrial mills, museums and craft stores from the Zaan region.
