New construction in Watergang: charming ribbon village with character
Watergang, home to nearly 600 people, is a charming ribbon village with character. Besides "ordinary" stone houses, you will find wooden dike houses and black tarred hay houses in Waterland. The most striking building is the church, built in 1642. The nave is of red brick, the tower of wood. During a major restoration in the 1980s, that tower was completely replaced. Quite extraordinary that new construction is also taking place in Watergang.
Wetlands of Ilperveld nature reserve next door
If you love peace and quiet and space, Watergang is truly a place for you. With meadows, ditches, reed beds and the wetlands of the Ilperveld nature reserve surrounding the village, you will enjoy endless views here every day. At the same time, the bustling amenities of Amsterdam are very close by. You truly have the best of both worlds in Watergang.
Watergang: within biking distance of Amsterdam
The village is surprisingly easily accessible. In 5 minutes you are on the A10. By bike you are in fifteen minutes in the new district NDSM in Amsterdam North. Buses take you quickly to the Metrostation Noord, from where you can take the Noord/Zuidlijn to the center of Amsterdam, for example.
