Block 0 – The Rede: nominated for the Amsterdam New Building Prize 2016

The project was developed in Collective Private Contracting (CPO) and is a collaboration between the construction group, Global Architects and Bot Construction Group. The construction group members were able to determine how their future home would look like. With the choice of the housing type and the interior design, they had freedom of choice, so specific wishes could become reality. For example, choosing between a penthouse, an apartment, a maisonette, a town house or a loft: everything was possible within the framework of this design.

To emphasize the character of the port area, the materials have a rough appearance. Robust fences, bare concrete, large glass surfaces and rough hardwood give an industrial feel. The interplay between these different elements makes the facade a plastic whole. The apartment complex has been implemented in a 100% climate-neutral way. A number of interventions have contributed to this. On the roof, PV panels have been installed that generate solar energy. The shell has a Rw value of 7.0 to 10.0. The windows have been fitted with triple glazing. Cold and heat storage takes place in the ground beneath the complex to preheat the integrated underfloor heating, so that the correct temperature can be reached with little added energy.
