The PUUUR BLOK CPO residential complex consists of 20 units in a high-density urban setting in Block 0 of the Houthaven. There is a wide variety of residents, from first-time buyers to retirees, with diverse housing types ranging from two-room studios of 55 m2 to apartments and maisonettes of 80-200 m2 and live/work canal-side homes of 220 m2.
The building is designed to be climate-neutral with solar panels, high-quality insulation materials, triple glazing, a collective heat recovery system, and is connected to district heating. There are electric charging stations at both the car parking spaces and in the communal (moped and) bicycle storage. Communal facilities have been added to the residences, such as a gym and a shared rooftop terrace at a height of approx. 30m, which are managed by the Homeowners' Association (VVE). The VVE also owns and manages a retail space on Haparandaweg. There is an indoor semi-sunken parking basement. The sustainable structural shell has been developed in such a way that new housing layouts will be relatively easy to achieve in the future. The residences are characterized by bright spaces, large outdoor areas in the form of balconies, and (roof) terraces with large floor-to-ceiling aluminum folding doors. The light-yellow natural stone facades made of Gauinger travertine feature an alternating bush-hammered finish on each floor for a subtle detail and play of sunlight, giving the whole a Mediterranean appearance.
