A new area development has been realized in the Buiksloterham industrial area with the construction of a number of energy-neutral CPOs. With 5,200 m2, BlackJack is the largest building. It is an all-glass living-working complex with characteristic continuous balconies on each floor all around, ending with a sloping roof that is fully optimized for the 250 PV cells. The building consists of 32 residences, catering facilities, a family apartment hotel, a caterer, a gallery and two practice rooms.
The co-occupants include a mix of starters, career couples, singles and senior citizens. All homes are different, designed entirely with and for each resident and range in size from 45 to 200 m2, from studios to maisonettes. With this energy-neutral building a maximum effort has been made on sustainability. Applied are a WKO, underfloor heating and cooling, PV panels, shower WTW, hotfill, LED lighting, high insulation values and large overhangs. In addition, a column hull in combination with a smart floor, extra technical logistics and a facade that can be subdivided by the occupant provides a self-determined house size and completely free floor plans, both now and in the future. The extra height and transparent facade maximize light, air and spectacular views. The communal green roof of the low-rise is accessible from the storerooms in the main building on the second floor.
