The Schinkelhof project on the Schinkelkade in Amsterdam has 64 apartments and social facilities on the ground floor. There are 45 quality-built homes for seniors and 19 for first-time buyers. The basement contains a parking garage with 37 parking spaces and 64 parking spaces for the apartments. The project has a more open feel than the former care center that stood on this site.
The design of the various parts of the complex is varied in its execution to create a sophisticated and rich facade. The building’s head resembles the Amsterdam School with its raised stone plinth and semi-circular, bricked balconies.
Through the diversity of the different types of apartments in relation to the price range and the addition of the social facilities on the ground floor, the project increases the livability in the neighborhood.
The optimal living quality of the building lies in the combination of factors: an excellent location with a variety of amenities within easy reach, fully finished apartments consisting of a spacious living room and bedroom(s), and a beautiful balcony. The apartments meet the standards and quality requirements of today, with various sustainability features being implemented, including photovoltaic panels for generating electricity.
