Change= was founded to help young adults at the start of their housing careers. Even if they have a job, acquiring independent housing in the city that meets reasonable standards often takes far too long. Change= II is the second location of this concept. This second new apartment complex is located in Amsterdam Southeast near Bijlmer-Centrum.
In Change= II, 596 social rental apartments have been realized in an architecturally attractive residential building with a repeating motif in the windows and balconies. The transparent plinth connects to the urban environment. The housing concept has been developed in such a way that flow-through occurs organically and remains accessible in the overheated housing market. The studios are fully fledged living spaces with a private bathroom and kitchen.
Change= develops from a social and societal purpose. Compact, high-quality social rental homes within an attractive community concept. The building itself features a sunny courtyard garden, a gym, and (later this year) a smart-work center with flexible workspaces and meeting rooms. Change= therefore offers not only living space with high-end facilities, but also communal areas where you come together to work out, work, hold meetings, or watch a movie on a large screen. Furthermore, the concept invests heavily in the safety and well-being of its community.
The entrance of Change= II is located at the current Frankemaheerdpad. What is unique about the entrance is that it takes into account the two ground-floor levels of Zuidoost. The complex can be reached via a pedestrian bridge from the elevated ground level. The location in Zuidoost is within walking distance of the Bijlmer Arena metro and train station and next to De Amsterdamse Poort shopping center.
