IJburg 1C
IJburg 1C on IJburglaan in IJburg is a new sustainable residential building with 66 social housing units owned by housing corporation Stadgenoot. Uniquely, it was built using a completely remountable construction. The columns and floor sections can be taken apart and reused.
From the Solid concept, the apartment complex can be divided flexibly. For example, all installations can be moved, creating extra space, and the storey height is higher than normal. For the first residents, this means extra free height and thus pleasant living spaces. It also ensures a future-proof building that adapts to changing needs.
The apartment complex offers a diversity of housing, ranging from three-bedroom homes to studios, allowing different households to live under one roof. There is also a collective roof terrace and, on the first floor, a breeding ground for artists.
The facades consist of wood frame elements with circular wood facade frames and a lightweight composite exterior facade. This is low CO2 and 100% recyclable. A custom-made artwork of 136 enamel objects in the shape of lenses, designed by the artist duo Aliki van der Kruijs and Jos Klarenbeek, is placed on the facade.
