Amstelkwartier Lot 8A is located in the popular Amstelkwartier in Amsterdam, a district known for its sustainable development, urban dynamism, and location on the Amstel River. Lot 8A features 55 mid-range rental apartments and city homes, catering to various target groups: from first-time buyers to families.

Living
The project includes 55 rental apartments and a daycare center with a rooftop playground. Parking is provided in the underground garage beneath the building block. The central bicycle storage is located on the ground floor.

Architecture
Due to the triangular lot, the building splits into two orientations: the residential street on the land side and the quay side with special double-height loft apartments with large glass facades. At the sharp corner where the two building sections meet, an overhanging, rounded point has been designed into the architecture. The main entrance is located here. The triangular inner courtyard provides space for a green communal outdoor area.

Brick architecture has been chosen for the exterior, interspersed with decorative cladding and PV panels as facade covering. The building is highly sustainable and nature-inclusive. The building generates more energy than it consumes, partly due to the ground source heat pump and the very large number of PV panels on the roofs, which even cover entire facade sections. The roofs ensure water retention, which slows down the discharge of rainwater. Rows of nest boxes are part of the facade design, offering space for various bird species and bats. Climbing plants against the internal facades provide cooling.
