Registration for three self-build plots on Centrumeiland in Amsterdam launched

Good news for self-builders in Amsterdam! Registration for three self-build plots in Center Island Construction has started in Amsterdam IJburg. This involves two plots for individual self-build and a 'Small-scale together plot', suitable for the construction of three or four self-build homes. The plots have 'returned' and are now being re-released by the municipality. You can register until Sunday, June 23.

Choice between individual self-build and small-scale collective building on Centrumeiland

Most people can imagine individual self-build plots. These are plots where you build your own house, in Amsterdam usually attached to other self-build homes. "Together-on-a-small-scale" plots are plots with space for (in this case) three or four homes. The individual self-build plots currently available are 162 and 192 square meters in size. The together-on-a-small-scale plot is 243 square meters. The plots are issued on leasehold. You pay an annual ground rent or a one-off buyout fee. These involve the following amounts (excluding VAT):

  • Lot 05-03 (individual): 7,423 euros (annual) or 298,129 (buyout).
  • Plot 04-11 (individual): 9,137 euros (annually) or 366,928 (buyout).
  • Plot 05-11 (small-scale-together): 12,227 (annual) or 491,040 (buyout).

If you choose the together-small plot, you register together with two or three other households. After allocation, you will also (have them) build the homes together. The plots are already construction-ready. You can therefore start building quickly. More information about the three plots can be found at this page on the municipality's website.

Registration self-build plots Centrumeiland until Sunday, June 23

Registration for the plots has started and is open until Sunday, June 23. Information about the registration procedure and conditions can be found at this page on the municipality's website. The registration itself takes place via this page on the municipal website. Whether you choose individual self-build or small-scale collaborative building, in both cases you are working on a home that completely meets your wishes.

Centrumeiland: sustainable urban district for everyone

Centrumeiland is one of the islands that make up Amsterdam IJburg. It is a new piece of land that is developing into a green, sustainable, and low-car urban district for everyone. Think of families, young people, and the elderly. The neighborhood is surrounded by water, and a park will be located at its heart. There will also be all kinds of facilities, such as a primary school, a daycare center, hospitality venues, and small shops. What particularly characterizes Centrumeiland is the large number of self-build homes. Of the approximately 1,500 homes the neighborhood will eventually contain, about 70 percent are self-build. Centrumeiland is therefore the largest self-build location in AmsterdamThe neighborhood covers an area of about 15 hectares. That is equivalent to roughly 23 football fields.
