De Oosterlingen: apartments, lofts and townhouses in the center of Amsterdam

De Oosterlingen consists of several buildings that are built against each other, thus forming a single unit. The housing options still available are spread across these buildings and include various two-, three-, and four-room apartments, two-story loft residences, and three-story townhouses (with five rooms). The living areas range from approximately 48 square meters to about 165 square meters. Most of the homes still available have their own outdoor space, in the form of a balcony, a loggia, and/or a rooftop terrace. Prices range from 480,000 to 1,500,000 euros. These prices are free on name (property transfer tax and notary costs included in the purchase price). Very nice: the homes are on freehold land. Therefore, you do not pay ground rent.

Comfortable and sustainable living in De Oosterlingen

Almost every home in De Oosterlingen is unique, with great attention to spatial design, originality, and quality. Think of bright living rooms with plenty of privacy, large windows, and a designer kitchen. At the same time, the excellent insulation, triple glazing, underfloor heating, and heating and cooling storage (with heat pump) ensure an optimal living environment with relatively low energy costs.

Livable environment for humans and animals

De Oosterlingen features a total of 141 homes, spread across seven buildings. The design by architectural firm MVRDV focuses on a livable environment for humans and animals alike: pure, green, biodiverse, circular, and future-proof. Each building will have its own sustainable facade, made from materials such as wood, brick, or micro-concrete. Another characteristic feature is the abundant greenery found in the three communal rooftop gardens and on the facades. This greenery retains water and helps combat heat stress. At the same time, it attracts birds, butterflies, and bees. Other facilities are also beneficial for urban fauna. For instance, bee bricks attract bees that promote the pollination of flowers, shrubs, and trees. In addition, sparrow houses provide a safe nesting place for the protected house sparrow. De Oosterlingen thus makes a wonderful contribution to urban biodiversity.

New construction in Amsterdam, on the waterfront, near Central Station

Formerly an industrial urban shipyard, Oostenburg is today a modern city district in the making, surrounded by water. In De Oosterlingen you live peacefully on an island, with the conveniences of the city center within easy reach. The lively Czaar Peterstraat is just around the corner. You can cycle to Central Station within ten minutes. And thanks to a new cycle path along the Dijksgracht Oost, that route will be even shorter. If you want to leave the city by car, you are (also) on the A10 ring road in ten minutes. Yet you don't actually have to leave Oostenburg. The industrial quays and cozy waterside terraces create a special atmosphere and a feeling of freedom.
