New Westzaan is a small neighborhood with a rural feel. You can see this especially in the row and corner houses. The blocks of three, four, and five have black wood on the facades, white window frames, and red tiles. This makes them look like country barns. The two detached houses incorporate elements of the Zaan architectural tradition, such as green wood on the facades, windows with muntin bars, and a decorative roof spire on one of the ridges. A really great thing about New Westzaan is its location on the water. From the dock, you can easily hop on a SUP board or take your sloep into the surrounding countryside.
The project consists of fourteen homes. Twelve of these are terraced and corner houses, two are detached. A brief overview of the offering:
The terraced and corner houses have living areas of 116 and 117 square meters and a lovely garden. On the ground floor, you have a spacious living room with an open-plan kitchen and French doors leading to the garden. The first floor accommodates three bedrooms and the bathroom. Under the ridge, you have a storage attic, accessible via a loft ladder. The bathroom and toilet will be equipped with tiling and sanitary ware upon delivery. The kitchen is delivered as a shell, so you get to choose that yourself. Parking is available in a communal area. The detached homes have living areas of 141 and 155 square meters and a lovely garden. On the ground floor, you have a spacious living room with French doors opening to the garden. The kitchen is connected to the living room, yet positioned somewhat separately. The connecting link is a spot where you can easily place a large dining table. Upstairs, you have three bedrooms, one of which spans the full width of the house. The spacious bathroom with a double sink, walk-in shower, and bathtub is also located on this floor. The spacious attic beneath the ridge offers possibilities for an extra bedroom, study, or hobby room. The bathroom and toilet will be equipped with tiling and sanitary ware upon delivery. The kitchen is delivered as a shell, allowing you to choose your own. Parking is available on private property.
The two detached houses are currently under option. However, prospective buyers can still back out. In that case, you might still be eligible for them. The purchase prices: 765,000 and 789,500 euros (free of transfer tax).
The homes in Nieuw Westzaan combine character with strong energy performance. Westzaan is located on the west side of Zaandam. Once there were 150 (!) windmills. Of those, only 2 remain: Het Prinsenhof and De Schoolmeester.
