More good news about new construction project The Hive in Amsterdam New WestAfter the groundbreaking project was recently named the best new-build project worldwide, construction has now begun! The energy-positive apartment complex combines nature, culture, a sense of community, and care. A major eye-catcher is the climate forest. This is not just an ordinary courtyard garden, but a true tiny forest. Two-room apartments are still available starting from 385,000 euros (free of transfer tax). View it accommodation offer and sign up.
But what makes The Hive so groundbreaking, so different from the usual? First of all, that climate forest. That cannot be compared to an average courtyard garden. Thanks to this ‘urban jungle,’ you breathe in fresh air among shady birches, field maples, and black alders. You relax on a bench, a swing, or another ‘chill spot’ while the sunbeams play through the trees. Via wooden boardwalks, surrounded by ferns and lilies-of-the-valley, you experience nature. And you enjoy coolness and biodiversity. You experience nature with all your senses. And all of that right in the middle of the city, literally next door to your newly built apartment.
The sustainable ambitions of The Hive also give the project something extra. Rainwater will be retained, there will be greenery on the facades and there is - in addition to the climate forest - a beautiful roof garden. Moreover, the apartments have energy label A+++ or A++++. This not only offers great comfort and a lower energy bill (with normal consumption), but is also good for nature and the climate. Additional advantage: you can borrow more for the purchase of the apartment.
But there's another reason the project is so highly regarded: it offers a combination of living with nature, culture, neighborhood spirit and care. Here's the thing. The Hive consists of a new building complex and a municipal monument, which formerly housed Calvijn College. The apartments for sale will be in the new building. A health center will be located on the first floor. A parking garage and bicycle storage will be located under the building. The former school building will be preserved and will provide space for creative people, a daycare center (work studio) for people with disabilities, and a community room. That community room is the perfect place to meet other people.
What about accessibility? Lelylaan Station, where bus, train, streetcar and metro converge, is right next to your front door. So you can get to other parts of Amsterdam, or beyond, quickly and easily from here in many ways.

Does all of that sound like music to your ears? Then there is good news, because there are still apartments available in The Hive. These are two-room apartments of around fifty square meters, with purchase prices starting from 385,000 euros (free of transfer tax). These prices are based on an annual ground lease canon. All apartments have their own outdoor space. There are also a few larger apartments left, although they are all currently under option or reservation. However, a candidate could drop out, in which case such a property would become available again after all. View the currently available housing offer via the housing seeker on the project site and register for your preferred apartment. It has already been said: at The Hive, you will soon be living in an award-winning project. Earlier this year, The Hive received the prestigious MIPIM Award for "Best New Development" worldwide. The MIPIM Award is often called the "Oscar of the real estate world." By the way, you will need to be a little patient. Now that construction has started, the expected completion date is the third quarter of 2027.
