Nieuwbouw op Zuidas
The Zuidas has quickly become a unique piece of Amsterdam with international allure. A very special neighborhood in the popular Amsterdam Zuid , where up to 2040 there is room for no fewer than 8,000 to 9,000 new homes. Initially the Zuidas was mainly known as a work location, but now this image is completely changing. Up to 2020, approximately 2,000 new homes will be completed and the municipality will aim to add an average of 350 homes per year to this number.
If the Zuidas is completed around 2040, approximately 15,000 people are expected to live in the Zuidas. But, not only is living and working on the Zuidas. There are already countless restaurants and trendy catering facilities and the number of stores will also increase if more residential towers are delivered in the coming years. On the ground floor there are shops, also for daily groceries. Next year a supermarket will be opened on the Mahlerlaan. There are also hotels and art and culture are also being considered.
The accessibility is really excellent! Schiphol is within 10 minutes and by bike or tram you are in no time at the Museumplein. Station Zuid, the most important transfer point of the northern Randstad, will be radically renewed and car traffic on the A10 will go underground. All in all, Zuidas is one of the largest construction sites in Amsterdam. Here is what to happen!
Sub-areas in the Zuidas
The Zuidas has several (residential) neighborhoods. The area along the Mahlerlaan is most centrally located and has a Manhattan-like appearance because of the high towers. Beautiful towers, each standing icons, alternate. High towers alternate with lower buildings. Here comes a mix of rent and owner-occupied apartments. The buildings 900Mahler and Intermezzo, with a purchase and rental apartments, are currently under construction. These will be delivered in 2016 and 2017. It is expected that this year will start with the sale of apartments on the highest floors in a very special residential tower along the Mahlerlaan: ‘Xavier’. Large and small apartments, all with a very nice sunny balcony or terrace.
Towards the RAI is a very different residential neighborhood called the Kop Zuidas. A lot of apartments will be built here in the coming years. This plan adds more to the Rivierenbuurt; the buildings are lower and the buildings are more green. There are also many owner-occupied and rental properties here. The apartments in RIV // (purchase) are now under construction. Building Rivers with rental housing has recently been completed. If you look at this place, you will see that there are many building activities and that the area is already changing completely.
Then there is another special neighborhood, namely along the Fred. Roeskestraat. This plan connects more with the Stadionbuurt. De Fred project is currently being realized here. Again in a mix of buying and renting.
In the future, a lot of housing will also be realized in the Kenniskwartier (that is at the VU), and in the Vivaldi and Ravel plans. That is at football club AFC.
