BlackJack: nominated for the Amsterdam New Construction Prize
A new area development has been realized on the Buiksloterham industrial estate with the construction of a number of energy neutral CPOs. BlackJack is the largest building with 5,200 m2. It concerns an all-glass housing complex with characteristic continuous balconies on each floor, ending with a sloping roof that is fully optimized for the 250 PV cells. The building consists of 32 residences, catering, a family apartment hotel, a caterer, a gallery and two practice rooms. The co-clients consist of a mix of starters, career sets, singles and the elderly. All houses are different, completely designed with and per resident and vary in surface area from 45 to 200 m2, from studios to maisonettes. This energy-neutral building is fully committed to sustainability. TES, underfloor heating and cooling, PV panels, shower WTW, hotfill, LED lighting, high insulation values and large overhangs have been used. In addition, a column shell in combination with a smart floor, extra technical logistics and a self-dividing facade ensures a house size that can be determined by yourself and floor plans that can be freely arranged, both now and in the future. The extra height and transparent facade provide maximum light, air and spectacular views. The communal green roof of the low-rise building is accessible from the storage rooms in the main building on the second floor.
