900 Mahler: nominated for the Amsterdam New Construction Prize 2017
Building 900 Mahler, located on Gustav Mahlerlaan, has 22 floors, contains 126 homes and a commercial plinth of 1,100 m2 on top of a continuous underground parking garage. At the top of the building are 46 spectacular owner-occupied apartments of 180 m2 on average with large terraces and a view over the city. The chic Manhattan residential buildings from the first half of the last century, with their clear structure and carefully composed, richly detailed brick facades, were the inspiration for the design of the residential tower. A high and a lower tower on a wide public plinth allow the houses to benefit optimally from sunlight and views. By replacing the facade of the elevators, the tallest tower apparently consists of two slender towers. Protruding brick piers enhance the verticality. This articulation, in combination with the detailing of the brickwork, gives the building a sturdy appearance. The generous windows give residents a beautiful view of the city from their couch or bed and a true 'penthouse feeling'. A special mobile application offers an extensive range of services of your choice. A private caretaker has an office in the entrance hall.
